Julien DURANT, Co-founder of Picture Organic Clothing

The story of the brand Picture, created in 2008, is intimately tied to a genuine passion that Julien Durant and two of his buddies have for skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing. The brand, whose name was chosen somewhat by chance based on something off a snowboard DVD cover, was the result of a shared desire to create something different from what was out there, at the time. Their committed positioning, based on eco-designed products and unique graphics, quickly got people talking about the brand and enabled them to take a seat in the market, alongside the big players.

Stéphane MARTEAU, Founder and CEO of MC Box Events

If you’ve ever spotted a MC BOX pick-up truck on a beach during surf events, then you already know (without realizing it) Stéphane Marteau. He’s done it all – surf shops, bars, brands,… – before founding MCBox in 2008 and becoming a low-key but essential figure in the Action Sports event scene.
In this episode, he looks back on his early years in Sarthe, show jumping, discovering skate, snow and finally the waves of Hossegor in the 90s – plus all the unexpected turns that led him to events like the Paris-Dakar and Hellfest. All sprinkled with solid anecdotes, instinct, and passion.
The kind of episode we love: real, generous, and full of good vibes.
Enjoy the ride!

Yann Dalibot, Soöruz Co-creator and Director

In this new episode, Inside EuroSIMA welcomes Yann Dalibot, co-founder of Soöruz. In just under 20 years, the Charente-Maritime-based brand has managed to establish itself in the European boardsports market and even rattle the leaders, in particular in the neoprene segment, which now represents 80% of their business. Having always placed innovation and eco-design at the heart of their product development, Soöruz has massively invested in R&D and even created new materials like Oysterprene, made from oyster shells. In this podcast, Yann Dalibot tells us about how the brand started and grew, from selling T-shirts at local outdoor markets to its rapid growth, partly thanks to the fact that they themselves ride, whether it’s surfing, windsurfing or skateboarding. Soöruz is one of the rare French boardsports brands to have made it from outside the Aquitaine arc. As he explains in the interviw, Yann has always seen this geographical location that Yann has always seen as a strength. He also discusses how the company managed to anticipate the financial crisis and change its model before everyone …

Reid PINDER, Former Senior Executive & Brand Manager Billabong Europe & Co-Founder Sunday Collab and ALT MLK

In the late 80’s, Europe was supposed to be no more than a passing trip in the life of a certain young Australian surfer from the Sunshine Coast. That was until a serendipitous encounter with Derek O’Neill on a ferry changed everything. Derek was getting ready to launch Billabong Europe, given the potential of the budding surfing industry on the Old Continent, and he invited Reid to join the adventure.
