Beyond an impressive career, Juan Gonzalez-Vega’s life is above all about destiny. The destiny of a Spaniard, who arrived in France at a young age, who got into surfing as a teenager, whose ambition and talent first led him to become a trader on Wall Street for the biggest agencies in New York in the late 90’s.
“I’m more the entrepreneurial type. I built my career within a group, but we were lucky enough to be entrepreneurs in the group“

It’s also been a life of key encounters and opportunities that, for instance, allowed him to join Quiksilver and make it to the top in record time. Juan became a part of the very small and selective team of the World Board at the time. He was then given key responsibilities within the group’s hierarchy.
Through Moskova, Juan was able to truly develop the entrepreneurial skills that he’d previously starting honing. From creating it with surfers in the group to the forced sale and highly secretive repurchase and managing a key executive position at NaPali, Juan tells us the story of this now fully bloomed brand, which he manages to this day.

His is a solid career, built on key episodes that have given Juan a unique energy, a tangible strength of character and the desire to experience each day, each swell, each wave to the fullest. This is a story about destiny but also about passion.
One day, I went to Pierre and said “I’ve got to tell you something: I took the Moskova licence for Europe”. He said “What? You can’t do that !“
