Every industry has its key players and for French boardculture, Greg Poissonnier is one of them.
Originally from the North of France and having moved to Pau in the Pyrénées at the age of 12, Greg saw the rise of snowboarding in the early 90’s and how it spread to the masses, which is also when he honed his own skills in the sport. Having joined the Quiksilver pro team a few years later, he experienced firsthand the first pro contrats as well as the first editions of several now legendary events such as the Quik Cup. These travels and interactions led him to establish a wide network in the industry.
After retiring from pro riding, Greg went into Marketing management for brands such as Globe ou Analog/Gravis at the European level for both snowboarding and skateboarding.
A skater himself since day one, in 2011 he combined his passion for urban riding with his entrepreneurial spirit by creating cOLLAPSe Skateboards, his own brand of decks.
Since then? Far from staying idle, Greg has worked towards developing skate culture and bringing it to the masses through his company Slappy Agency, which also led him to be a France TV commentator for the Skateboarding events in last year’s Olympics. And the list of current and upcoming activities goes on…
In a nutshell, this podcast is a fascinating conversation with a crossover key player, who is both passionate and inspirational.
Enjoy the ride !
